RE.UNIQLO FIT Collection

RE.UNIQLO and FIT embrace the transformative power of clothing, pursuing a vision of a better future and sustainable fashion. In a collaborative effort, RE.UNIQLO, the Fashion Institute of Technology s DTech Lab, and Fashion Design students crafted the inspiring RE.UNIQLO X FIT collection. Three innovative Fashion Design students, Sam Cho, Bridgette Schaeffer, and Nuo Cheng, created an 11-piece collection, while two talented Advertising and Digital Design students, MJ (Minjeong) Park and Andrew Grechko, joined forces with RE.UNIQLO to create the RE.LIVE campaign and website to promote the collection.

“Hello! I am Sam Cho. My interest in fashion was cultivated in the heart of a tailor’s shop, where I honed my sewing technique and developed a keen eye for detail. This hands-on experience has equipped me with professional tailoring skills and a deep understanding of the intricate relationship between fabric and shape. I have always been fascinated by the world of architecture. Repetition plays a crucial role in my creative process. It’s through this repetitive process that I can perfect my ideas to their finest form.”

I believe the power of design transcends surface level beauty and can influence great change within the minds of its audience. I work to discover and carry out sustainable innovations in my garments. This current generation of designers are more conscious; we know our decisions have an impact on the environment. I believe the fashion industry should be held to a higher standard than what they are held to now.”

Degree: BFA Fashion Design

"My name is Nuo Cheng. I came from China to study fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. It’s been my ambition to pursue a career in fashion design since childhood. Moving to a new country and living in NYC has exposed me to forms of art and beauty that I’ve only dreamed of before. The vibrancy and energy of the city, along with the diverse community of creative friends that I’ve made, have been an endless source of inspiration to me. Designing clothes makes me feel connected to people and to my home away from home.”
