RE.UNIQLO: A New Life for UNIQLO Clothing and Down

Through our in-store clothing collection
program, RE.UNIQLO, we collect gently used UNIQLO clothing from our customers and donate them by
partnering with organizations who support homeless and vulnerable populations in your local community.
We're also exploring new ways to refresh old clothes and make them available again to our customers.
Donations collected through the in-store RE.UNIQLO bin are sorted in-house by our store teams. Clothes in good condition are sent to a local RE.UNIQLO partner. Collected UNIQLO down jackets are recycled and turned into new products. Clothes unsuitable for donation are sent for recycling through SuperCircle.
RE.UNIQLO boxes can be found at UNIQLO stores across the country. All UNIQLO items are accepted for recycling. Please wash your clothes prior to donation to ensure that items are delivered in the best possible condition. Please make sure personal belongings are not with donations.

New Life for Old Down
We are promoting initiatives to recycle collected clothes into new clothes and deliver them to customers again to conserve resources, minimize waste and reduce our environmental impact. For example, UNIQLO extracts down and feathers from collected down jackets and uses them as raw materials for new down jackets. The Recycled Hybrid Down Jacket, a product of the collaboration between UNIQLO and White Mountaineering announced in October 2024 uses 100% recycled down and feathers that have been regenerated using original down recycling technology developed in collaboration with Toray.

What if an item can't be donated?

Any item we receive that is not in donatable condition is recycled through SuperCircle, a circularity and reverse logistics tech platform who we partner with to ensure our product stays out of landfills. SuperCircle has built a platform that enables textiles to be kept in the loop and out of landfills through enhanced waste management and recycling programs, which includes downcycling and fabric-to-fabric recycling. UNIQLO items are sent to their warehouse facilities to be properly recycled. This means that customers can drop off an item that is in any condition, and we are able to appropriately donate or properly recycle through our RE.UNIQLO circular systems.
