Development Process

This LifeWear collection, designed under the concept of "Grace. Strength. Unity.", will feature high functionality and comfort to withstand temperature fluctuations across multiple host cities, as well as a simple, beautiful and sophisticated design inspired by Swedish culture, to support the athletes' performance and unity.
In addition to utilizing Uniqlo's signature high-performance materials, such as moisture-wicking and heat-generating HEATTECH, and the functional insulating material PUFFTECH that provides warmth, the partnership has incorporated Toray Industries' waterproof and breathable material ‘Dermizax®’ into jackets and pants for the opening and closing ceremonies. This special material achieves high levels of waterproofness, breathability, and low condensation, ensuring quality that can withstand the harsh winter climate.

Sweden×UNIQLO
In August 2018, UNIQLO opened the first store in Sweden. Located in the heart of the city adjacent to the King's Garden (Kungsträdgården), one of the most historical and popular parks in Stockholm. UNIQLO Kungsträdgården will occupy the building known as Sweden House (Sverigehuset). Designed by Stockholm-born Sven Gottfried Markelius, one of the most important Swedish modernist architects, Sweden House was completed in 1969.
The second store in the Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm opened on August 28, 2020, and the third store, Gothenburg, opened in April 2021.
See the LifeWear magazine's article introducing the Gothenburg city.
