UNIQLO's Response to the Los Angeles Area Fires

    Jan 17, 2025
    NEWS
    Dear UNIQLO customers,

We are devastated by the fires spreading throughout LA and surrounding areas, and our thoughts are with so many of our affected employees, friends, family, and customers. UNIQLO Co., Ltd., Fast Retailing USA Co., Ltd., UNIQLO USA, Inc., GU USA LLC, and Theory LLC will donate up to $1 million USD worth of LifeWear products and $1 million USD of relief funds in emergency aid.

    Here are our immediate actions:

    • On Sunday, 1/19 and 1/26, five UNIQLO Stores in the LA area (WF Century City, Glendale Galleria, WF Topanga, Santa Monica Place, Santa Anita Mall) distributed UNIQLO LifeWear bundles to our neighbors who have been affected by the fires.

    • From 1/11 to 1/31, Fast Retailing USA, Inc. pledged to match customer donations in-store and online of up to $100,000 to support the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank through Feeding America®, with 90% of all donations supporting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and 10% going to Feeding America. As part of the Feeding America network, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank distributes food and other essentials to children, seniors, families, and other individuals in need. They also provide vital food resources year-round for people who are fighting hunger and serve as a first responder in the case of a natural disaster.

    • Fast Retailing USA, Inc. has pledged a donation of $25,000 to California Fire Foundation, a foundation that provides critical support to surviving families of fallen firefighters, firefighters, and the communities they serve.

    • We are donating 1,500 units of UNIQLO Kids’ clothing to the Los Angeles Mission, our RE.UNIQLO partner, with whom we have partnered with for about 5 years. The clothing will be provided directly to families affected by the fires.

Here’s how we can work together:

If you have clean, gently used clothing to donate, please bring your items to a RE.UNIQLO collection bin in one of our Los Angeles UNIQLO locations. Clothing donations will be directed to our RE.UNIQLO partner, Los Angeles Mission, to help those impacted by the fires and others experiencing homelessness.
