UNIQLO HAWAI'I COLLECTION
In patterns inspired by Hawaii, this is the UNIQLO commitment to creating perfect clothing that meets the needs of everyone's daily lifestyles.
Designed in homage to the history of the Aloha shirt, we remember the early Japanese immigrants to Hawaii who tailored the Japanese kimono fabrics to a shirt suitable for everyday work.
In true UNIQLO LifeWear fashion, the shirts have been created to be soft to the touch and easy to care for.
Unsodo was founded in Kyoto during the Meiji Era, and it is the only company that specializes in publishing books using the technique of Japanese woodblock printing in Japan. From their archive, we focus on Japanese patterns that bring up the image of “The Tale of Genji”. “The Tale of Genji”, featuring Hikaru Genji, is a Japanese masterpiece set in the Heian Era and written by a female writer of the 11th century Murasaki Shikibu. Inspired by gorgeous love stories, many beautiful designs were created.

Unsodo was founded in Kyoto during the Meiji Era, and it is the only company that specializes in publishing books using the technique of Japanese woodblock printing in Japan. From their woodblock archive, we selected celebratory motifs that can used to ring in the new year. Designs feature traditional good luck symbols- shochikubai 松竹梅 (pine, bamboo, and plum) and longevity symbols- tsurukame 鶴亀(crane and tortoise).
Shochikubai 松竹梅松, the Japanese Pine Tree is evergreen and signifies longevity. 竹, Japanese Bamboo signifies new birth with the many bamboo shoots that sprout at its base all year around. 梅, Japanese plum flowers bloom in the winter time before any other flower, it signifies strength and beauty.
Tsurukame 鶴亀鶴は千年、亀は万年 is a saying from Japan that means the crane lives a thousand years, and the tortoise lives ten thousand years.

LION Coffee roared into life in 1864 in Toledo, Ohio introducing fine “fancy roasted” coffee. In 1979, LION moved to Hawaii to focus on the only beans grown in America, and it didn’t take long before LION Coffee became Hawaii’s favorite coffee brand. Today, hand-selected Arabica coffee beans are still carefully roasted and freshly packed under meticulous and exacting standards. Every batch is cupped to deliver freshness and the finest taste. This care and quality control sets Lion Coffee apart from the rest of the pack.
