The Heart of LifeWear

Donating millions of HEATTECH thermals to people in need

UNIQLO launched The Heart of LifeWear, a global initiative to donate one million new HEATTECH thermals to people in need around the world in 2024. This initiative was born from our reflection on the question what makes life better? It was also our desire to take meaningful action to contribute to society through LifeWear in our 40th anniversary year.

Autumn/Winter 2024

In February 2025, UNIQLO delivered 530,000 items of HEATTECH thermal clothing to people in Jordan at the request of UNHCR (the UN refugee agency), with which Fast Retailing / UNIQLO has a global partnership. Some 70,000 people live in the Za’atari refugee camp, the largest in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world. There are about 560,000 Syrian refugees currently still living in Jordan.
In addition, in 28 other regions globally, UNIQLO donated approximately 470,000 items to help people in urgent need of clothing, including disaster victims, individuals experiencing homelessness or poverty, and disadvantaged children. UNIQLO worked with local support groups to understand what was needed, with UNIQLO managers and employees around the world participating in the donation activities.
2025
The Heart of LifeWear initiative has been supported by UNIQLO LifeWear Special Ambassador Haruka Ayase, along with UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassadors Roger Federer, Kei Nishikori, Shingo Kunieda, Gordon Reid, and Ayumu Hirano, as well as the Toray Group, one of the world's leading materials manufacturers and the development partner for HEATTECH. At donation events for the initiative, UNIQLO’s Ambassadors handed out HEATTECH thermals directly to recipients and exchanged greetings, while also participating in sports clinics, talks and other activities to give joy and hope.
