The Power of Clothing Photography Series
UNIQLO is proud to celebrate its partnership with Smart Works through The Power of Clothing, a photography series that champions the transformative impact of gaining confidence, opportunity and style.
This series shines a spotlight on seven Smart Works clients whose lives have been supported by the charity at a pivotal moment. Each portrait presents not a jobseeker, but a confident professional stepping into her future. Captured in striking black and white, these images reveal the poise, strength and individuality of women at work, dressed in clothing that gives them the confidence for their next chapter. Through candid visual storytelling, the exhibition reframes these women as the protagonists of their own success stories.
The collection has been created in collaboration with acclaimed portrait photographer Sane Seven, known for her intimate, character‑driven depictions of influential women. Her concept‑led approach and dedication to gender‑equality advocacy infuse each image with artistic sensitivity and purpose, giving voice to stories that deserve to be seen and celebrated.
Smart Works is an award‑winning UK charity empowering women into employment through high‑quality interview clothing and one‑to‑one coaching. By helping women succeed at interviews, secure roles and build lasting confidence, the charity ensures that any woman who needs their support can access it. Smart Works champions the transformative impact of gaining confidence, opportunity and style as part of wider support into employment.
UNIQLO shares this belief in the Power of Clothing to change lives. Our commitment to creating high‑quality, long‑lasting garments is rooted in practices that prioritise people, the planet and society.
We are proud to share that Clare Waight Keller, UNIQLO’s Creative Director, is now a Smart Works Ambassador. She has curated a collection of UNIQLO items designed for the modern workplace, which are worn by the featured clients throughout the photo series.
