UTme! x ST180 Design Contest 2025
To enter the contest, participants must fill out the registration form by clicking on the link button below.
● Each contestant is required to be an existing UNIQLO Singapore APP Member. If not, contestant may sign up as a UNIQLO Singapore APP Member via UNIQLO APP or website.
● If a contestant is a minor (below 18 years old), the parent(s) or guardian of the contestant shall submit the form on behalf of the contestant.
● Each submission should consist of 1 original design, and should be submitted in a digital art format (.png or .jpg only, no background) with size 2048 x 2048 px.
● Each original design should follow the theme “Telling Your Singapore Story” and does not include any iconic landmark and/or icon that may amount to potential infringement of intellectual property rights.
● The deadline of submission is on 7 Sep 2025, 11:59 PM (SGT).
● Three (3) winners will be contacted between 27 Oct 2025 to 31 Oct, 2025. If any winner fails to respond to our Uniqlo APP Push Notifications within 2 days of being notified, an alternative winner will be selected.
● Official announcement on UNIQLO Singapore's official social media pages will be in November, 2025.
● Winners will receive the following prizes:

b. A one-year The Straits Times All-Digital subscription (valued at $358.80)

As The Straits Times marks its 180th anniversary, ST is celebrating with a series of events and activities aimed at bringing us closer to the community and its audiences.

The UTme! x ST180 Design Contest is a contest jointly held by Uniqlo (Singapore) Pte Ltd (“Uniqlo”) and SPH Media Limited via The Straits Times (“The Straits Times”),
to solicit Artwork which may be used on T-shirts merchandised by Uniqlo. Contestants are to submit Artwork with the theme “Telling Your Singapore Story”.
The terms and conditions the Contest are set out below (“Contest T&Cs”):
Mechanics:
Create an artwork for a white UTme! short-sleeve T-shirt under the theme, "Telling Your Singapore Story" (“Artwork”)
and submit the Artwork together with the required information on https://www.uniqlo.com/sg/en/special-feature/cp/utme-x-st180
Winning Artworks may be printed and sold on T-shirts of the Uniqlo brand at Uniqlo’s sole discretion
and may be sold through Uniqlo-branded stores in Singapore and any other channels decided by Uniqlo.
Please refer to the clause below in Intellectual Property Rights & Use of Artwork for more details.
No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest.
Submission Period: 7 August 2025, Thursday to 7 September 2025, Sunday, 11.59pm (“Contest Period”).
Any entries received after the Contest Period will not be taken into consideration.
Submission:
Each contestant may submit multiple entries, but each entry is limited to one Artwork submission only:
Each submission must be made individually and not submitted as part of a group.
The contestant shall provide a 200-word description of their Artwork,
explaining how their Artwork reflects the theme, eg: the inspiration/message behind their Artwork,
the meaning of their Artwork, how it relates to contestant’s Singapore story and/or any other information about their Artwork (“Artwork Description”).
Each contestant shall submit their Artwork in .png or .jpg file format, in 2048 x 2048 pixel size (max 1 MB).
The Artwork submitted by the contestant must be original works created by the entrant that has not been submitted for any other competition(s) whether
in Singapore or elsewhere.
The Artwork may be created in digital format or drawn by hand. The use of or reliance on any computer-generated images or use of any generative AI tool
or platform in any part of the creation process is strictly prohibited, and Artwork found to be in breach of this requirement shall be immediately disqualified.
Eligibility:
The Contest is open to any individual residing in Singapore and is an existing UNIQLO Singapore APP Member.
If a contestant is aged below 18 years old, entry shall be submitted by the contestant’s parent(s) or guardian.
The following persons are not eligible to participate in the Contest: (a) officers and employees of Uniqlo and their respective immediate family members,
or (b) officers and employees of SPH Media Limited and their respective immediate family members.
Prizes:
A total of three winners will be selected.
Each winner will be entitled to:
- S$600 Uniqlo APP Voucher
- A one-year The Straits Times All-Digital subscription (valued at $358.80); and
- Limited edition ST180 merchandise.
Prizes are not transferable, or exchangeable for cash, credits or any other item or otherwise, either wholly or partially. Uniqlo
and The Straits Times reserve the right to change any of the prizes to one of a similar monetary value.
Judging Criteria:
Uniqlo and The Straits Times will review the Artworks, and will, at their sole discretion, select the winning Artworks that best reflect the Contest theme.
Uniqlo’s and The Straits Times’ decision is final and neither Uniqlo nor The Straits Times shall be obliged to give any reason or enter into correspondence
with any person concerning the outcome of the Contest.
Winners must agree to attend any interviews, photography and/or videography activities organised by Uniqlo and The Straits Times in relation to the Contest.
The specific date(s) and time(s) will be notified to the winners at a later date.
Winners must also agree to be featured on The Straits Times’ and Uniqlo’s various communication and media channels.
Uniqlo and The Straits Times reserve the right at their sole discretion not to consider, and exclude or disqualify any entry without prior notice, where:
(1) the Artwork/submission does not meet the Contest T&Cs,
(2) the contestant has contravened any of the Contest T&Cs,
(3) the information which the contestant submitted includes false information, or
(4) any other reason that Uniqlo and/or The Straits Times consider in its sole and absolute discretion as being inappropriate to accept an entry.
Notification to Winners:
- By entering the Contest, you give Uniqlo permission to contact you via Uniqlo App Push Notifications if you are shortlisted and/or selected as the winner
and for Uniqlo and The Straits Times to respectively use your name, design story, Artwork Description and Artwork on Uniqlo and The Straits Times’ online website,
print newspaper, social media channels, videos and SPH owned channels.
- The winners and winning Artworks shall be announced jointly by Uniqlo and The Straits Times on Uniqlo’s official website in November 2025, or such later date as Uniqlo may determine at its sole discretion.
- The winners will be notified via Uniqlo APP Push Notifications between 27 October 2025, Monday to 31 October 2025, Friday.
If any winner fails to respond to our Uniqlo APP Push Notifications within 2 days of being notified, an alternative winner will be selected.
Final winners will be announced in November 2025.
Representation and Warranties
- You represent and warrant that (i) you own the Artwork and Artwork Description and there is no other party or entity with ownership claims over any part of the Artwork or Artwork Description; and (ii) the Artwork and Artwork Description are your original work and have not been copied wholly or substantially from any other source.
- You represent and warrant that each of the Artwork and Artwork Description:
a) does not infringe any third party's intellectual property rights, other proprietary rights or rights of publicity or privacy;
b) was not in any way created by the use of or reliance on any computer generated images or generative AI platform; does not violate any law or regulation;
c) Is not defamatory, libelous, obscene, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing;
d) and does not violate any laws regarding unfair competition, anti-discrimination or false advertising.
- In the event a contestant breaches any of the Contest T&Cs, each of Uniqlo and The Straits Times reserves the right to seek recovery from contestant of all
remedies available by law. Contestants shall at all times remain liable for any and all damages incurred in connection with breach of the rules by the contestant, including but not limited to those expenses and losses incurred in the termination of merchandising and damages due to any third party claim.
In the event a contestant breaches any of the Contest T&Cs, each of Uniqlo and The Straits Times reserves the right to seek recovery from contestant of all remedies available by law. Contestants shall at all times remain liable for any and all damages incurred in connection with breach of the rules by the contestant, including but not limited to those expenses and losses incurred in the termination of merchandising and damages due to any third party claim.
Intellectual Property Rights & Use of Artwork
- All rights in and to the Artwork and any copyrighted works derived from the Artwork (the “Derivative Works”) shall belong to the respective contestants.
- Notwithstanding contestants’ rights in and to the Artworks and Derivative Works, contestants agree that they shall not use the Artworks, the Derivative Works
or any part thereof for any purpose other than entering the Contest, such as submitting them for other design competitions, from the time of entering the Contest until the joint announcement of the winning Artworks by Uniqlo and The Straits Times. After such announcement of the winning Artworks of the Contest, contestants may use the Artworks and the Derivative Works, which were not selected as the winning Artworks of the Contest.
- From the announcement of the winning Artworks until 31 July 2026 (the “Exclusive Period”), the winners shall grant Uniqlo an exclusive, royalty-free right to,
(i) directly or through its affiliates and contractors, use the winning Artworks to manufacture, merchandise, sell, distribute and promote the merchandised products in any region,
and (ii) sublicense to The Straits Times, the above rights to use and reproduce the winning Artworks for the publication of features and articles in The Straits Times and channels owned or operated by it,
if The Straits Times in its sole editorial discretion decides to run such features and articles.
During the Exclusive Period, the winners shall not use the winning Artworks or their Derivative Works for any purpose other than the Contest or grant any third party a right to use them without the prior consent of Uniqlo.
- In relation to the use of the Artworks on the products, winners will be credited on the Uniqlo website and hang-tags of the products, but not on the products themselves. In relation to Uniqlo’s use of the Artworks for internal and non-commercial purposes,
Uniqlo will endeavor to credit the winner as the artist, subject to any formatting restrictions which prevent it from doing so.
- In relation to the use of the Artworks on the products, winners will be credited on the Uniqlo website and hang-tags of the products, but not on the
products themselves. In relation to Uniqlo’s use of the Artworks for internal and non-commercial purposes, Uniqlo will endeavor to credit the
Winner as the artist, subject to any formatting restrictions which prevent it from doing so.
- Uniqlo may request the winners to sign and submit a form to confirm the attribution of all rights in the Artworks. If a winner is a minor (aged below 18 years old), the parent(s) or guardian of the winner shall sign the form on behalf of the minor.
General:
- By participating in the Contest, each contestant acknowledges and agrees that personal data (including any personal data in the Contest submission) will be collected, used, processed and disclosed by
a) Uniqlo for the purposes of conducting, processing and administering the Contest including, but not limited to, communicating with you, disclosing and publishing the names of the winners; and for any marketing or publicity purposes, including being featured on various communication and media channels belonging to Uniqlo. Uniqlo will
handle contestants’ personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy which can be found here.
b) The Straits Times for the purposes of disclosing and publishing the names of the winners, prize fulfilment purposes, and for any marketing or publicity purposes, including being featured on various communication and media channels belonging to The Straits Times. The Straits Times will handle winners’ personal data in accordance
with its Privacy Policy which can be found at (https://www.sph.com.sg/tnc)
- Uniqlo reserves the right to amend any of the Contest T&Cs by publication on
https://www.uniqlo.com/sg/en/special-feature/cp/utme-x-st180 and
contestants shall be bound by such amendments. Each of Uniqlo and The Straits Times also reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, postpone or change the Contest where it becomes necessary to do so.
- These Contest T&Cs shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
- These Contest T&Cs shall prevail in the event of any inconsistency between the Contest T&Cs and any advertising, promotional, publicity and other materials relating to or in connection with the Contest.
