Roger Federer and UNIQLO Join Together in Seoul to Host READY, SET, SEOUL event through Around the World with Roger Federer series
Celebration of Tennis, Art, and Culture Comes Alive in Seoul

Global apparel retailer UNIQLO hosted the latest installment of its global event series Around the World with Roger Federer at The Shilla in Seoul, a global cultural capital, where innovation, sport, and creativity are continually being redefined, on October 13. This event arrived at a moment when tennis is evolving far beyond the court, becoming a dynamic symbol of contemporary culture. Tennis great and fan favorite Roger Federer lead a special coaching session to personally develop promising tennis juniors from the area. The event took place on a stunning tennis court with surface artwork created in collaboration with UNIQLO Artist In Residence KAWS and Korean graphic designer Sera Yong.

The Around the World with Roger Federer series is part of UNIQLO's ongoing Next Generation Development Program, a global initiative designed to foster creativity and opportunity for young people in major capitals around the world. The event took place within the grounds of The Shilla Seoul, a venue that blends contemporary design with traditional patterns and style.

This time, the event was held under the theme "READY, SET, SEOUL," with a special focus on inspiring the next generation with tennis, art, and culture. The Around the World with Roger Federer event presented new inspiration for young players through special artworks and featured a diverse program—including a performance by HOOK, a leading dance crew representing K-Culture.


During the tennis coaching session, young players practiced on a specially prepared tennis court and received direct guidance from Roger Federer. Session participants and courtside fans alike enjoyed the invaluable opportunity to learn first-hand from one of the most legendary players in the history of the sport.

In addition to the coaching session, juniors had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interact with the tennis legend in conversation. A lively Q&A session saw Federer explain what it takes to be successful at tennis, and life, as a professional athlete and community leader. Federer said, "Seoul is one of the most dynamic cities in the world. It was a pleasure to meet some of my fans here for UNIQLO's Around the World series. Young people are our future, and having the chance to share the court with them was a very special experience. I hope they came away feeling as inspired as I did from our time together."

Underscoring the convergence of art, tennis and culture, KAWS commented, "As UNIQLO's Artist In Residence, it was a great opportunity to design the tennis court together with the talented Korean artist Sera Yong. I hope the combination of art and sport was able to inspire the participants and encourage them to follow their interests and passions."
