Overview
Customers pay the tax-inclusive price in store and complete the tax-free registration process. The consumption tax will be refunded according to your refund registration after Customs confirmation before departure from Japan.

Minimum Purchase Amount
A tax-inclusive purchase amount of JPY 5,500 or more

What Customers Need to Do
1.Complete your tax-free registration at the store. Tax refunds cannot be processed without registration.
2.Complete tax refund registration.For purchases made at UNIQLO, click here.
3.Complete Customs confirmation before checking in your baggage. The subsequent refund process will begin after Customs confirmation.

Requirement
Supporting documents must confirm that the customer has continuously maintained a domicile or residence outside Japan for at least two years.

Required Documents
Passport and either a Copy of the Supplementary Family Register, a Certificate of Residence, or a My Number Card

Details of Supporting Documents
- A Certificate of Residence includes an electronically issued certificate (an “e-certificate”) and a printed copy of an e-certificate.
- A My Number Card includes an electronic alternative to the physical card (a My Number Card on a smartphone) and must state that the holder has moved abroad.

Returns and Exchanges for Tax-Free Purchases

- To return or exchange a purchased item, you must present the purchase receipt, tax-free registration receipt, passport used at the time of purchase, and the item.
- Tax-free items can only be returned or exchanged at the store where they were purchased.
- Items already confirmed by Customs cannot be returned or exchanged.
