The Heart of LifeWear

Last winter we introduced The Heart of LifeWear: a global initiative to help people in need. For the second consecutive year, UNIQLO is donating 1 million pieces of HEATTECH or AIRism clothing to refugees and communities around the world who need it most. In Europe, we are committed to distributing 100 000 pieces of HEATTECH thermal wear this winter season through more than 30 charity partners in 12 European countries.

Some of the distribution events received support from our Global Brand Ambassadors, such as Roger Federer in La Courneuve, Paris – read more here - and Gordon Reid at the Social Bite café in Glasgow – read more here .

In February and November, UNIQLO Europe took part in its third and fourth humanitarian visits to Moldova, in collaboration with longstanding partners Goods for Good, Hope4 on the ground, and global partner UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency to provide relief to Moldovans and Ukrainians refugees with firsthand necessities and warm clothing. The latest design collaborators are Club for the Future, a non-profit organisation inspiring future generations through space-focused activities. In Europe, events were held for the next generation of explorers in Barcelona and Milan with one of the three astronaut T-shirt designers, Leland Melvin. These designs convey the importance of seeing the Earth as a single entity without borders and sharing a common vision to foster a better future for the next generation.

In April, Picasso’s Bouquet of Friendship was added to the Peace for All design line-up. Bouquet of Peace art workshops were launched to celebrate, creating a global art-making experience that invited communities around the world to use drawings to reflect on Pablo Picasso’s paintings and message of peace. Tailor-made for Peace for All, in cooperation with the Musée National Picasso Paris and Artolution, the workshop encouraged participants to pause and consider the importance of connection and kinship in the creation of peace. The workshop was held across 25 cities worldwide, with participants contributing hundreds of artworks symbolising peace, which were assembled at the Musée National Picasso Paris to form the single large art piece exhibited in UNIQLO Le Marais.

The next generation of artists create Peace messages. Events were held with Emmaus Solidarité in Paris, Save the Children in Gothenburg, PLAN International in Milan, House of Hope in Rotterdam and Die Arche in Berlin.
