San Francisco, Sporty Pastel
San Francisco, a city of hills and colours.
Introducing seven perspectives on the many uses,
both casual and active, for Sport Utility Wear.

Jonas Meskis & Dakota Bright
Surfer, Model & Singer Songwriter
A couple walking up a colorful San Francisco street. The comfortable functionality of Sport Utility Wear (SUW) puts it on par with natural fabrics.Jonas, just ahead of her, opts for a DRY-EX polo shirt with loose cotton-blend seersucker shorts.
Right model

Pictured with his fishtail surfboard, Jonas glows from a day on the water in an orange pair of geared shorts and a two-colour tee with rolled-up sleeves.

Cole Fiegener
Student
Cole does cross-country at the University of San Francisco. 'I run through the city every day, especially Golden Gate Park', says Cole, styling SUW. The sweatshirt draped over his shoulders adds a preppy touch to his AIRism T-shirt and ultra stretch joggers.

Sporty to the max, Cole’s blue parka and T-shirt use DRY-EX technology to quickly absorb sweat. Keeping him dry, even when he’s running on all cylinders.

Alan Yao
Product Manager
'These items look great in green. Just right for biking or walking around', says Alan, who’s employed at one of the Bay Area’s many tech companies. The fabric of this pale green UV Protection Pocketable Parka is made using NANODESIGN™ technology, developed by Toray Industries to create a unique texture at the nano level that’s water-repellent yet supple. On his feet, Alan wears new sneakers from UNIQLO : C in a mint and brown colourway.
Changing Colours, Unchanged Scenery
Pastel buildings are a perfect match for this season’s SUW. Up close, you can detect several careful layers of paint. If you compare photos from a few years back, some buildings have changed colour entirely. This all started with the colourist trend led by local artist Butch Kardum in the 1960s, when many of the city’s iconic Victorian homes were painted vibrant tones, changing the face of SF to this day.
This keeps things very interesting for runners. Thanks to the grid of streets, you’ll suddenly pass by a majestic view of the ocean, offering a glimpse of Alcatraz Island bathed in light.
Downtown, a darling railcar rattles up the street. The colours of the city may change, but some things about San Francisco never do. The hilly streets are truly unforgettable. If you have the chance to go for a run here, head for the picturesque lookout of Twin Peaks. The extreme slopes are sure to carve a space into your memory.
