What if a single T-shirt had the power to spread peace?

“It’s time for action, in the name of world peace.” Major figures who share this vision with UNIQLO have volunteered to design T-shirts embodying their peaceful wishes. All proceeds will be donated to international organisations supporting those affected by violence, discrimination, armed conflict, and poverty. The PEACE FOR ALL project is powered by each and every one of you who wear these T-shirts. Our wish is for a world in which all people can feel safe in their daily lives.

UNIQLO will continue to broaden this initiative, working with people all around the world.

*UNIQLO parent company Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. will donate an amount equivalent to all profits (no less than 20% of the selling price) equally among UNHCR, Save the Children Japan, and Plan International Inc. This sales promotion is conducted by Fast Retailing, a parent company of UNIQLO Japan.

In my work, I reconnect to the absolute power that we are born with and use while we are still children. It's the same power that turns a folded piece of paper into a boat or a pencil into a rocket and I believe that looking at the world as a place you can change and modify is an essential skill to remind the next generation of if we want to make a change. Working with these children in Vietnam gave me plenty of hope for what was to come and it was also a lot of fun.

    I learn so much from the people I photograph. Working with people in Aw-barre Camp, hope, dreams, and resilience became central themes I wanted my work to represent. I wanted to play with metaphors of the rainbow that symbolise hope and promise of a better time to come, as well as a powerful quote from one of the people I worked with. The image is set in a landscape on a border that separates the Ethiopian Jijiga from the Somali border, inhabited by Somalian refugees.

    Lindokuhle Sobekwa

    Born in South Africa in 1995, Lindokuhle Sobekwa came to photography in 2012 through his participation in the Of Soul and Joy Project, an educational programme run in Thokoza. His early projects dealt with poverty and unemployment in the townships, while in later work Sobekwa is increasingly addressing his own life, such as his relationship with his sister, Ziyanda, who died after becoming estranged from her family. Most recently, he was announced as the recipient of the first John Kobal Fellowship, presented at Tate Modern in March 2023. Sobekwa became a Magnum nominee in 2018 and a member in 2022.

His work appeared in well-known fashion magazines in the 1950s and 1960s, but he stepped away from the front line in the 1980s. His photo collection Early Color was released in 2006, when he was 82-years-old, and was a major hit as he rose to prominence as a pioneer of colour photography. Retrospectives and publications featuring Saul Leiter continue to be presented around the world, and a documentary film was released in 2013. Saul Leiter died in 2013.

    Khaled Hosseini

    Khaled Hosseini was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1965. In 1980, after the Soviet invasion of his birthplace, Khaled and his family were granted political asylum in the U.S. Khaled studied medicine and practised as a physician in California until 2004, after which he dedicated himself to writing. He is the author of The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and other books. He has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, since 2006. In 2008, he launched The Khaled Hosseini Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which provides humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan. He lives in California.

He drew people he saw in New York City every day, and each night he scanned the drawings and uploaded them to his blog. Jason knew he would not finish this project, and he was totally okay with that. He liked the idea that it would be a project he could work on forever.

When a stray cat took its food, Maru didn’t get upset until a minute after the other cat was gone. A cat who could not fight. Though perhaps that’s for the best. The time has come to give peace our undivided attention.

    Born in 1937 in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, anatomist Yoro graduated from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine. Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo, Yoro is also author of the 2003 best-seller The Wall of Fools. He is the recipient of awards from the Shingo Ryukogo Taisho buzzword contest and the Mainichi Publishing Culture Awards. The books in his Wall series have sold millions of copies. A known lover of cats and insects, he conceived of the idea for MushizuKa, an innovative memorial to insect life at Kamakura’s Kencho-ji Temple.

    When I Saw the Earth for the First Time' - I imagined a picture book with a title like this. The colourful sphere represents the earth, the yellow sphere represents the sun, and the child holding the balloon is you, the main character.
    The diversity of living creatures that exist on this earth creates and drives the beauty of the earth. I expressed that through the universality and infinity of colour. I hope that colours will move people's hearts.

    The French architect, artist, and designer has lived in Tokyo since 1996. Inspired by the layers and colours of Tokyo that built a complex depth and density on the street, and the traditional spatial elements like sliding screens, she has created the concept of "shikiri", which literally means "dividing (creating) space with colours". Using colours as her signature, her works extend to a number of projects, including architectural design for Sugamo Shinkin Bank, art installations for UNIQLO and ISSEY MIYAKE, 100 colours art installation series, and Forest of Numbers at The National Art Center, Tokyo. Moureaux is a Professor at Tohoku University of Art and Design.

    Born in 1976 in Tokyo, alongside work in advertising and publishing, artist Yu Nagaba has collaborated with famous brands and companies in Japan and abroad. In 2019, he staged the solo exhibition Express More with Less, which showcased a transition from drawing to the medium of canvas. The following year, his show The Last Supper at Gallery SAI in Shibuya drew critical acclaim. Since then, his work has continued to garner attention at home and abroad, with solo exhibitions in Hong Kong and Taiwan and participation in the Chinese art fair WEST BEND.
