UNIQLO Introduces UNIQLO x Hana Tajima Collection in U.S. Market

February 15, 2016, New York, U.S. – Following the success in Southeast Asia of its first modest wear line, UNIQLO today announced that it will introduce the UNIQLO x Hana Tajima Spring/Summer 2016 Collection in the U.S., launching exclusively at the 5th Avenue Store in New York City and on UNIQLO.com on February 26. The collection is a collaborative line with UK designer Ms. Hana Tajima, tailored to complement UNIQLO’s global LifeWear concept.

“We are thrilled to introduce the UNIQLO x Hana Tajima collection to the U.S. market. The collaboration connects Hana’s personal style of modest fashion with our LifeWear concept of enhancing people’s lives through clothing, including those who value modest wear. Every item from this collection is designed with quality, comfort, and style in mind,” said Hiroshi Taki, UNIQLO USA CEO.

The Spring/Summer 2016 collection features stylistic flourishes – vibrant prints, lively colors and innovative cuts – as well as a range of products, from casual pieces like long, flowing skirts, tapered ankle-length pants and blouses, to more traditional wear, including the kebaya – a light, loose tunic, commonly worn by women in Southeast Asia - and the hijab headscarf, featuring UNIQLO AIRism.

“We are particularly excited about the update to our AIRism Inner Hijab and High Neck Sleeveless Top that ensures coverage without compromising comfort, especially in warm weather,” Hana said.

The first UNIQLO x Hana Tajima Collection launched last year in Southeast Asia, and it will now be introduced for the first time in the U.S.
