UNIQLO is partnering with The Nature Conservancy to help plant 100,000 trees in the United States.

UNIQLO has three main sustainability pillars, Planet, Society and People. We aim to improve the environment by creating long-lasting and high-quality clothing. We are also committed to helping preserve the environment for future generations.

This is why in 2024, UNIQLO in the United States decided to contribute $150,000 to the Nature Conservancy and its Plant a Billion Trees Program to help plant 100,000 trees locally.

The Nature Conservancy's Plant a Billion Trees campaign is a major forest restoration program. The goal is to plant a billion trees across the planet to slow the connected crises of climate change and biodiversity loss.

The United States is the home to some of the world’s oldest and tallest trees. The Plant a Billion Trees Program is restoring forests across the United States, in places like:

- The Upper Great Lakes (Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin)

- Central Appalachia (West Virginia)

- The North Woods (Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin)

- Longleaf Pine Forests (Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana)

- Mississippi Delta (Mississippi)

- Shortleaf Pine Forests (Arkansas)

Why planting trees is important?

- Trees store and filter fresh water

- More forests mean more biodiversity and a healthier ecosystem

- Trees absorb and store carbon from the atmosphere

- Healthier forests can mean better protection from extreme weather events
