Relief: Emergency Humanitarian Aid

Faced with a full-scale war in Ukraine, 9.9 million people have been forced to flee their homes. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, has taken a leading role by providing urgent protection and assistance, including distributing core relief items while also maintaining and managing shelters. In close coordination with local and international partners, UNHCR is delivering emergency shelter repair kits to people whose homes have been damaged, carrying out repairs, and offering legal support and psychological counseling to those experiencing conflict-related trauma. A portion of donations helped fund these critical programs.

The Sudanese civil war has been developing since April 2023. As of March 2025, Sudan has 11.3 million internally displaced people, while 30.4 million people are in need of support. Small-scale shelters have popped up all over Sudan, though most are unequipped with basic infrastructure like running water. Current efforts are focused on improving poor sanitary conditions of refugee camps while maintaining waterworks and providing food aid.
