Graphic design inspired by Dragon and Tiger, a pair of paintings from a six-paneled folding screen by Hasegawa Tōhaku (1539–1610), one of the great painters of the Azuchi-Momoyama period.
Noted for its dynamic composition and powerful brushstrokes, this masterpiece depicts a standoff between a dragon (summoner of clouds) and a tiger (stirrer of wind). For this collection, we’ve recreated the majestic dragon on a cream background the color of Japanese washi paper.
