SUSTAINABILITY
On Sunday, October 5, UNIQLO USA hosted a special Peace For All workshop in collaboration with Club for the Future at our 5th Avenue flagship store. The event welcomed 60 student beneficiaries from Beam Center and other local youth organizations for a morning of imagination, inspiration, and interstellar exploration.
The highlight of the event was a powerful talk by former NASA astronaut Leland Melvin, who shared his journey from the football field to outer space. His message centered on the importance of peace-building, curiosity, and dreaming big, echoing the themes behind the Peace For All T-shirt collection he helped design.
"It always inspires me to see the infinite possibilities of our youth working together for our future and creating solutions to help our civilization flourish. The Peace For All project with UNIQLO and Club for the Future helps kids see that potential."
Leland Melvin, Astronaut, Engineer, Author
Students engaged in Club for the Future’s Postcards to Space program, writing heartfelt messages and dreams that will be flown aboard the New Shepard rocket and returned stamped “flown in space.” They also explored space-themed virtual reality content, offering an immersive journey beyond Earth and a deeper appreciation for our shared planet. Each student left with a special space-themed goody bag, which included one of Mr. Melvin’s books, pens, stickers, and a Peace For All T-shirt from the collaboration.
“This workshop was a beautiful example of how imagination and innovation can inspire young people to see themselves as changemakers. We’re proud to support experiences that connect education, creativity, and the spirit of peace."
Jean Shein, Global Director of Sustainability, UNIQLO
The event was a celebration of connection, hope, and belonging, values that unite our brand with Club for the Future’s mission.
Through the Peace For All project, UNIQLO has donated over $16 million to international organizations supporting those in need globally. Click here to learn more.
