PEACE FOR ALL x Picasso: “Bouquet of Peace” Art Workshop

SUSTAINABILITY
As part of the Peace For All charity T-shirt project, UNIQLO partnered with the Estate of Pablo Picasso to deliver a message of peace through the "Bouquet of Friendship" T-shirt.
Picasso's “Bouquet of Friendship” portrays two hands grasping a vibrant bouquet, which the artist created for the 1958 Peace Conference in Stockholm. As a symbol of peace, “Bouquet of Friendship” encourages us to pause and consider the importance of connection and kinship in creating peace—a message communicated by Picasso through his support for the peace movement throughout his lifetime.
To further spread this message for peace, UNIQLO markets in over 10 cities around the world hosted a special art-making workshop to showcase their desire and vision for peace. This project aims to give participants a chance to think about what peace means to themselves and those around them.
“Since 2022, our Peace For All initiative has helped us support impactful projects worldwide. Events like this one give us the chance to connect global mission to local action, fostering community and creating lasting impact that extends the mission closer to home.”
- Jean Shein, Global Director of SustainabilityOn Saturday, March 22, UNIQLO US hosted a collaborative workshop at the 5th Ave flagship location in New York City in partnership with Artolution, an international community-based public arts and education organization, and the New York City Department of Homeless Services. With the support of Artolution and UNIQLO volunteers, 20 children spent the morning making a collaborative art piece inspired by the Picasso design, drawing what “Bouquet of Friendship” means to them.
"I am drawing a flower, and a flower represents kindness."
- Joshua, “Bouquet of Friendship” Participant
