UNIQLO Helps Transform La Courneuve Community by Donating Stunning New Court
This event, part of the UNIQLO Next Generation Development Program, aims to support the development of children around the world through sessions conducted by Federer on the themes of art, tennis, and culture.
The first event was held in New York in August 2023, followed by Shanghai in October. Further events are planned in areas throughout the world.

An enthusiastic session with junior athletes
On the day of the event, Federer conducted a special tennis clinic for the young players.
During a Q&A session, Federer shared what it takes to succeed in tennis and life as a professional athlete and community leader.
Participants were impressed by the words of someone who has achieved so much in a stellar career spanning over two-decades.
Donation of a tennis courts with colorful surface artwork
The event took place on a tennis court with vibrant surface artwork by Parisian artist Caroline Derveaux, created in cooperation with social partner Fête le Mur.
This court was donated by UNIQLO to La Courneuve and continues to be used regularly as a community facility.
“We want to support the growth of the next generation of children through these events.”
Roger Federer said, “Paris and its surroundings are among the world’s most inspiring places. I enjoyed sharing my knowledge with the next generation. I hope the event both improved and inspired them. It was a fantastic experience to celebrate tennis, art, culture - and of course, Paris itself - with everyone here.”
Séverine Thieffry, General Manager, Fête le Mur, said, "We were delighted to partner with UNIQLO to create this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the kids of our community to meet and learn from Roger Federer, right here in La Courneuve, nearby Paris. We are grateful to Roger and to UNIQLO for their contribution to La Courneuve."

It’s a special time for this city, and we felt so welcomed by the community. UNIQLO is so pleased to present this beautiful tennis court as a permanent gift, available to all in La Courneuve.”
About the UNIQLO Next Generation Development Program
The UNIQLO Next Generation Development Program, launched in November 2022, is a framework for a wide range of initiatives and programs aimed at young people, conducted in collaboration with UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassadors, top-ranked global athletes, and various sports-related and other organizations. Through interaction with leading athletes at the top of their fields, young people receive advice for living powerful, forward-looking lives, while participating in social programs that combine sports coaching with lessons on sustainability that will allow them to become leaders for a sustainable future.
