Q: How can I use my Thank You Voucher?
You can use your Thank You Voucher at any UNIQLO store in the contiguous 48 states as well as on-line at UNIQLO.com. For in-store redemption, just present your voucher at check-out with the new UNIQLO Down jacket (no baby or kids jackets) that you want to buy and $10 will be taken off the price of that item. For on-line redemption, please input the unique code that is printed on the Thank You Voucher at check out by clicking on the “Apply a Coupon” prompt and inserted your code. $10 will be taken off the down item in your shopping cart.
Q. What products are included in this down recycling initiative?
To guarantee quality standards, we can only accept UNIQLO down styles and cannot use other brands’ down products.
Q. May I donate UNIQLO Kids or Baby products?
Not at this time, as they are not made from down, they are a synthetic polyfill fiber that we cannot yet recycle with this method. When you donate UNIQLO Kids or Baby styles, we give them a second life by distributing them to families in need.
Q. Can I use more than one Thank You Voucher in the same transaction?
You can redeem more than one Thank You Voucher on an in-store purchase, but only one per down item. If you're shopping online, you cannot redeem more than one voucher in one transaction.
Q. Is the Recycled Down Campaign global?
Yes, however the Thank You Vouchers can only be applied within the same country as the Thank You Voucher was distributed (store or online). For the U.S., this is limited to the contiguous 48 states and does not include Hawaii or Alaska.
Q. How will this campaign differ from all-product recycling initiative?
The purpose of the all-product recycling initiative is to donate to people who need clothes, such as refugees and houseless communities. The purpose of this Recycled Down Campaign is to recycle old materials to create new products.
Q. Recycled Down will be used to create new down products. Does that mean we are producing new garments?
When making our upcoming 2021 Fall/Winter collection, we will use the collected down filling to create 100% recycled down products and reduce our use of new down materials.
Q. Is UNIQLO down sustainable in the first place?
Yes. UNIQLO Down is responsibly sourced, according to international standards. The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) aims to ensure that down and feathers come from animals that have not been subjected to unnecessary harm. We believe that education – through RDS – is a meaningful way to drive demand for strong animal welfare practices.
Q. Can I bring in my UNIQLO down items for recycling and receive a Thank You Voucher even if they are damaged?
Yes. We will accept your UNIQLO down items even if they have holes, stains, and/or a broken zipper. As long as there is still down within the jacket, you can recycle it and receive a Thank You Voucher.
Q. Will you continue to collect UNIQLO down even after the campaign has expired?
Yes, we will keep collecting down. After collection, we will continue to return it to the designated warehouse. The distribution of Thank You Vouchers will end on December 24, 2020. We will also continue to carry out an all-product recycling initiative.
Q. Why are down products other than Ultra Light Down accepted?
We are able to recycle all types of UNIQLO down at our partner’s facility in Japan, and we are doing so to maximize the impact of this campaign.
