TOKYO MIYAGE SUSHI Ota Memorial Museum of Art Utagawa Hiroshige

Popular in Japan for hundreds of years, these days sushi is enjoyed all over the world as a symbol of Japanese culture. "Sea Bream, Bonito, Carp" was created by Edo-period artist Utagawa Hiroshige. This colorful ukiyo-e work illustrates three types of fish, passing on Japan's culinary tradition to future generations.

The Ota Memorial Museum of Art is dedicated to the ukiyo-e genre. It opened in Jingu-mae, Shibuya, Tokyo in 1980, based on the collection of Seizo Ota V, former president of the Toho Insurance Company. The large-scale collection includes 14,000 pieces, covering ukiyo-e masterpieces from different periods.
