The concept for the men's version is "New Classic." We've used a tough-looking 100% cotton fabric made with thick yarn for a fit that's not too loose. The concept for women is "Special & Rich." We used cotton with an interlock weave to make a smooth and soft impression.

Christophe Lemaire, artistic director of Uniqlo U, shares his thoughts on the Uniqlo U Crew Neck T-Shirt for men in his Paris studio. Mr. Lemaire's aesthetic is based on what a universal T-shirt should be, incorporating a sophisticated aesthetic into something worn daily. Fabric, texture, comfort, and refined colors are all considered, even in products that look simple at first glance.

The interlock-knit jersey fabric has a clean, soft finish. He also notes the many tests he underwent with the production factory to create this shape. He designed the same crew neck T-shirt with different attention to detail for the men's and women's versions.
This year's colors.
There are ten different color options this year. For each color, we test four prototypes with various nuances and select the one with the most elegant tone until we're satisfied.
