UNIQLO Tate Play

Building on the success of our existing partnership with Tate Modern, we’re excited to announce UNIQLO Tate Play, a new free programme of playful activities at Tate Modern and in our stores for families of all ages.

Always taking inspiration from the art on display at Tate Modern, UNIQLO Tate Play will keep offering families new ways to play together and get creative.

The renewed collaboration with Tate Modern is based on our shared philosophy of Made for All, a concept at the core of our UNIQLO LifeWear philosophy. Together UNIQLO and Tate share the common goal of making art accessible for all.

  • Mega Please Draw Freely

    24th July - 29th August

    Tate Modern

You are invited to create, play and make some mischief! Can you do something that has never been done before? This summer, you are invited to help us transform the floor of the Turbine Hall into a giant work of art. This project by artist Ei Arakawa...will launch UNIQLO Tate Play, Tate Modern’s new free programme of playful activities for families. Inspired by the Gutai group – radical Japanese artists who wanted to change the world through painting, performance and children’s play – everyone of all ages is welcome to scribble, doodle, sketch and become part of this unforgettable experience.
In the Turbine Hall, express your imagination by drawing on the floor or on one of the huge banners. After, they will be hung from the ceiling, with more being added each week. Your drawings will combine with the drawings of others – those who came before you and those who came after you – to create this living mega artwork!
There will be live performances at 11.00 and 14.00 daily, (lasting 30–45 minutes) which you will be able to take part in.
UNIQLO Tate Play is a new free programme of playful activities for families of all ages at Tate Modern, in partnership with UNIQLO.
