SUSTAINABILITY
“In Thailand there are still people who freeze to death during winter every year, especially in the North and mountainous areas due lack of warm clothes and their remote location. Some families, including refugees, need to rely on open fires to keep warm.”
RE.UNIQLO is a circular sustainability effort to RECYCLE and REUSE used clothings. Since 2016 in Thailand we collected used clothes from customers and unsalable display items to donate to Thai people more than 121,000 pieces. For some clothes that cannot be reused, we will recycle them into fuel for better environment and society as well
This year Uniqlo sets target to donate warm clothes 50,000 pieces from both internal and external parties to support Thai people who need to face coldness during winter. Our intention is to improve their quality of living and hopefully decrease death from coldness to 0. We believe in the power of clothing to create a better tomorrow

Can your old clothing improve the future? Yes! At UNIQLO, we recycle your used garments through our circular sustainability programs. Take our recycled down initiative. We collect UNIQLO down garments from all over the world and transform them into new products. We also work with NGOs and partners to distribute wearable used clothing to refugees, disaster victims, and others in need worldwide. At UNIQLO, we believe in the power of clothing to create a better tomorrow. Our clothes recycling is just one part of our sustainability efforts to RECYCLE, REUSE, and REDUCE.
