Simple made better.
Colours and patterns defined by fine-quality yarn.
An ultra‑long cotton allows dye to penetrate deeply, creating a vivid depth of colour. Yarn thickness and density are calibrated for every colour and pattern, ensuring the fabric conveys the intended look of each shirt.

A good shirt starts with good cotton.
Cotton fiber is made by untangling cotton flowers. In particular, "extra-long staple cotton", with fiber lengths of 35 mm or more, is high quality cotton of which production is limited even in the world. The fiber has a smooth feel and pleasing luster. At UNIQLO's factory, impurities are carefully removed from the block-shaped bales of extra-long staple cotton that arrive from producing areas. The fibers are twisted many times while gradually aligning their direction and spun into beautiful yarn.
Symmetrical beauty by hand.
Every detail is meticulous, and that’s the secret to making a beautiful shirt The fabric for patterned, extra-fine-cotton shirts is roughly cut and then adjustments are made by hand to ensure the patterns align perfectly. After each pattern is properly aligned, it's cut again. This two-step process ensures that the patterns for the collar, placket, sleeves, and cuffs are symmetrical, and that each part is finished beautifully without misalignment.
