In Fall/Winter 2024, UNIQLO launched “The Heart of LifeWear” – an initiative to donate one million new items of HEATTECH and other clothing items to refugees, children, disaster victims, and other vulnerable people around the world. In 2025, we are continuing this initiative, with another donation of one million items globally.

On October 27, 2025, UNIQLO brought The Heart of LifeWear to Scotland, joined by UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassador Gordon Reid for an event in the professional wheelchair tennis player’s hometown of Glasgow. In cooperation with Social Bite, a Scottish NGO working to address homelessness, staff members distributed HEATTECH items and hot meals at a café operated by Social Bite.

Inside, UNIQLO UK COO Alessandro Dudech warmly welcomed people to the café and handed them food and coffee, while Gordon talked and shook hands with each person as he presented them with HEATTECH.

After receiving HEATTECH items and enjoying a warm meal, guests at the café gathered with Gordon to write heartfelt messages on heart-shaped cards, then combining their cards to create a single collage. On his card, Gordon wrote the message: “I hope for a brighter and warmer future for everyone.”

For UNIQLO, it is important to not only provide HEATTECH items needed by people living in difficult circumstances, but also to work with partners aiming to solve community issues, and continuously foster connections with people in the community.

2025 marks the second year Gordon has taken part in The Heart of LifeWear activities, following his participation in last year’s program in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Speaking at the event, Gordon said, "Last year in Rotterdam, I had the privilege of playing tennis with some of the children whilst donating HEATTECH. Our hope was to bring warmth and comfort to their lives during the colder months, enabling them to continue enjoying outdoor activities despite the challenging conditions. I am grateful to continue supporting The Heart of LifeWear initiative in 2025, an effort that reflects UNIQLO’s commitment to making life better for everyone. The Heart of LifeWear is about more than delivering HEATTECH - it’s about creating moments of compassion and connection, values that both UNIQLO and I deeply cherish. Bringing this initiative to life in Scotland, where I grew up, has been especially meaningful. It is a reminder of the power of community and the importance of giving back, and I am honored to play a part in this journey."

About The Heart of LifeWear
The Heart of LifeWear initiative was launched in 2024 with UNIQLO considering the question "What makes life better?" and asking how, in its 40th anniversary year, the brand could take further concrete action to contribute to society through LifeWear. During this season’s The Heart of LifeWear initiative, in 2024, UNIQLO donated 500,000 items of HEATTECH to returnees in Syria at the request of UNHCR, with which it has a global partnership. In addition, UNIQLO donation projects around the world provided more than 500,000 items of clothing to people in need, including disaster victims, homeless people, and other socially disadvantaged people.
