After learning that UNIQLO’s Beauty Light Wireless Bra is going to be better than ever this spring, we met with its Development Team. The Beauty Light Wireless Bra was already an innovative item that had changed the common perception of bras due to its elastic cups. Here then is the second half of the full inside story on the item’s development! (part 2)

The Beauty Light Wireless Bra of the 2020 spring and summer season is already available. How is it different from the 2019 model? What are the key improvements? We asked the two for an in-depth explanation!
The three key updates of the 2020
spring and summer season model
① Under section’s increased elasticity!
The entire under section’s design was changed for each size. The changes include a slightly shortened front section. The back section, which requires more elasticity, is now slightly longer.
② Cups’ snugger fit!
The cups are now softer for a snugger fit.
③ AA65/70 (previously XS) added!
Bigger lineup of sizes.

The addition of the XS model is a source of delight for me personally! (Laughs).

We’d been receiving many requests for a smaller size, so we also added this AA65/70 model, which corresponds to the old XS size.

Wow! The lengths UNIQLO goes to!
Ms. A
By listening to the honest opinions of our customers, we were able to look at the areas requiring improvement with greater precision. These include the size lineup.
Even oft-overlooked areas received
updates as minute as a few millimeters!
The insistence of taking the customers’ view is apparent in areas outside of the sizes as well. These are improvements that were made at the millimeter level on the basis of comments that were received through the official website’s comment forms and over the phone.
“The under section feels a little tight.”
In response to such comments…
Ms. A
We moved the side seams 0.5 cm forward!
Ms. S
At the same time, we lengthened the back section.
“The straps are prone to slipping off my shoulders.”
In response to such comments…
Ms. S
We moved the straps 0.3 cm inward.
““The sides rub against my underarms.”
In response to such comments…
Ms. A
We lowered the sides by 0.5 cm!
NOTE: The adjustments vary by bra size.

Tips for Improving the Wireless Bra’s Fit
Because attention to detail is evident in many of the bra’s features, it’s best to know the correct way for choosing and wearing the bra. We asked the creators to share tips for wearing the Beauty Light Wireless Bra. If anyone would know, they would!

This applies to bras in general, but what should you do if the size isn’t right?
Ms. A
Just because the bra doesn’t fit once, it’s a pity to give up right away. You may get a better fit by slightly adjusting the position of the hook and the straps.
Ms. S
Very often, women insist on the same size (regardless of model). If that’s the case, then try one size up and one size down.
Ms. A
Some of our stores have bra advisors. I recommend that you ask for their assistance and get proper measurements.
Ms. S
I suggest that you regularly measure your bust size because I often see women choosing sizes that are based on measurements taken years ago. But you have to remember, the shape and size of your bust is continually changing.

Epilogue
After doing the research for this article, I completely changed my view of UNIQLO’s wireless bras. I was particularly surprised by the minute changes that were made for each size. It was incredible that UNIQLO would value the customers’ perspective so much. This is one item that we should definitely keep our eyes on!
