Cold-Sensitive UNIQLO Experts Choose These Really Warm Home Looks

If you’re sensitive to the cold, you’ve probably looked for loungewear looks that reflect your requirements at home and have thought “I want something that’s also ideal for the neighborhood,” “I want something adorable and warm,” or “I want warmth without needing a heater.” We’ve got you covered. The cold-sensitive duo of acclaimed stylist Makoto Fukuda and fashion writer Chiaki Ishiguro share their honest opinions on such looks.

Ms. Fukuda is a stylist whose contributions can be seen in a wide variety of media, including women’s magazines, advertisements, and catalogs. “When spending time at home with my child, items that are warm and easy to move in are essential!”

Ms. Ishiguro primarily authors and directs fashion articles and editorials of women’s magazines. “I’m cold even when I turn on the heater for some reason.” She’s made this year the year to finally break free of chronic sensitivity to the cold and has been trying different approaches.

Loungewear that’s ideal for the neighborhood as is

Ishiguro, writer (I): I often find myself bizarrely dressed because warmth takes top priority when I’m at home. Consequently, I have to change every time I want to step out even in the neighborhood, say to go to a supermarket. I’m cold, and it’s a pain to change all the time.

Fukuda, stylist (F): I usually layer a men’s sweat over a long-sleeve tee. The men’s sweat provides the oversized feel that’s in style. For the bottoms, I wear HEATTECH leggings. I think it’s a nice arrangement. It’s warm, and it’s stylish enough for the neighborhood!

I：This dark green sweat is fabulous! It’s tastefully stylish! A loose fit, like this one’s, is so important when you’re lounging at home, isn’t it?

F：I dress my boy in sweats, top and bottom. With this style, it’s easy to get matching coordinated looks for mom and her child.

I：That’s adorable! What do you do for a coat?

F：I add a pile-lined blouson when stepping out. I’m positive this is a keeper because it’s super warm even though it’s light and comfortable.

Great for housework! A down vest is both easy to move in and warm

I：My house is so cold I even wear Ultra Light Down at home.

F：There are more people like you because it’s light and easy to move in! If you’re going to do some gardening, cooking, or anything requiring your hands, a sleeveless vest is nice, too.

I：Things get surprisingly warm when you’re moving about, so layering it over a high-neck HEATTECH item might be just perfect!

F：I recommend pile-lined fleece pants for the bottoms. They’re nice and warm. If you coordinate in dark tones you’ll get great results. There’ll be a slightly chic feel within the casual overall look.

I：Nice! And it looks like it might be a good idea to tie a large stole if you’re worried about the cold.

I：You’re right! Sleeping Snoopy is irresistibly adorable. Furthermore, it’s soft to the touch. It’s fantastic! I want to keep touching it forever!

Layer functional items to get by without heating!

F：Heaters are essential because it’s cold out, but I honestly don’t like to turn them on, partly because dryness is a concern. What do you do when it’s freezing?
I：I wear layers upon layers midwinter! After a lot of trial and error, I settled on a foundation consisting of a HEATTECH Ultra Warm tee and HEATTECH leggings. Then I wear a stretchy loungewear set and fluffy yarn fleece jacket over top. This style is really warm, so you have to give it a try!

F：That’s…impressive. Your arrangement seems comfortable, even with all that layering, because you’re wearing thin items that are functional atop one another!

I：I swear, the arrangement is easy to move in and comfortable. By the way I wear HEATTECH socks for added warmth! HEATTECH is truly essential, whether inside or out in winter!

A knitted dress that’s so good to the touch you’ll want to wrap yourself in its fluffy texture is the item to get!

I：Warmth takes top priority, but how the item feels to the touch is the next important thing for loungewear in winter! I find fluffy fabrics irresistible.

F：I completely understand! Just feeling them is soothing, isn’t it? UNIQLO’s boucle knit dress isn’t loungewear, but its spongy feel is remarkably comfy.

I：It seems great for when friends come to visit! I think I’ll want to pair it with HEATTECH leggings.

F：Great idea! I think more warmth is possible if you coordinate faux shearling slippers, too! Coordinating everything in a single color will produce a more stylish appearance as well.

F：What do you wear when you sleep?

I：I often wear pajamas or fleece items. I keep my wear simple because it’s hard to get a good night’s rest if I layer too much. I love flannel pajamas because they’re warm and convenient.

F：They are soft and wonderful, aren’t they? Definitely consider a HEATTECH blanket if you prefer light attire when you sleep! It’s big and thin, yet super fluffy and warm.

I：A HEATTECH blanket is available?! I have to check this out, seeing as I’m a person who gets cold very easily.
