In Fall/Winter 2024, UNIQLO launched “The Heart of LifeWear” – an initiative to donate one million new items of HEATTECH and other clothing items to refugees, children, disaster victims, and other vulnerable people around the world. In 2025, we are continuing this initiative, with another donation of one million items globally.

On December 8, 2025, UNIQLO brought The Heart of LifeWear to Melbourne, joined by UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassador Adam Scott for an event in the professional golfer home country, Australia. In cooperation with Save the Children Australia, UNIQLO Australia staff distributed AIRism items at our region flagship store, UNIQLO Emporium.

According to the Executive Director of 54 reasons, part of Save the Children Australia, Vicki Mau, "The young people visiting the UNIQLO store today participate in our school-based Hands on Learning program which is proven to increase engagement, wellbeing, and attendance, through students experiencing success creating hands-on projects outside the traditional classroom setting.

The morning started with a light morning refreshment followed by Heart Shape Origami Workshop led by our volunteers. After the origami workshop, Adam talked and shook hands with each person as he presented them with AIRism, while Tim, our CFO along with our Emporium Store Manager, Rhyannyn helped to distribute LifeWear Tote bags to all the students. Each of the students also wrote down what they dream of becoming when they grow up on heart-shape cards, then combined their cards and heart shape origami to create a single collage. After the event, we also provided the students with an enjoyable and memorable shopping experience in the store.

For UNIQLO Australia, it is important to not only provide HEATTECH or AIRism needed by people living in difficult circumstances, but also to work with local NGO partners solve community issues, and continuously foster connections with local community.

As our CFO, Tim mentioned after the event, “At UNIQLO, we recognize the importance of giving back to the people, planet and community. HEATTECH is important for all members in our community to keep them warm during the cooler weather. Similar to HEATTECH, AIRism encompasses functionality that will improve the everyday life of the recipient today. Having Adam who born and raised in Australia as well as one of our Global Brand Ambassadors to participate in our local Heart of LifeWear event is truly special to us.”

During the interview after the event, Adam said, “It was a privilege to personally deliver AIRism to children in Melbourne. My hope is that it keeps them cool during the summer and they get to have so much fun, and in return, I had fun with them, seeing their excitement when we were at the Uniqlo store.”

    ■ About The Heart of LifeWear
The Heart of LifeWear initiative was launched in 2024 with UNIQLO considering the question “What makes life better?” and asking how, in its 40th anniversary year, the brand could take further concrete action to contribute to society through LifeWear.
