HIROSHI SENJU MUSEUM

Among this issue’s photo shoot locations was the Hiroshi Senju Museum Karuizawa, a building known for striking a balance between nature and culture. Designed by architect Ryue Nishizawa, the museum showcases major works by internationally acclaimed Nihonga artist Hiroshi Senju. Glass curtain walls provide a sense of space along with views of ornamental trees and flowers. Each year, the museum hosts curated exhibitions of Senju’s work, while a gallery space is used to stage a variety of special shows and events.
