Simple made better.
100% little ones first.
Worn by newborn, delicate babies, baby clothes are truly the "first LifeWear." That's precisely why at UNIQLO, we're committed to taking "baby-first" care over all our baby products at every stage, right up until they're in the stores all around the world. That meticulous care doesn't just apply to the obvious things like how to choose the thread and sew the garments together, but even to the air in the factory where the clothes are produced. When it comes to ensuring peace of mind, safety, and comfort, we allow absolutely no compromises. Everything is to help babies grow up healthily.

Product Stories
Softness that only babies will notice.
Babies are sensitive to irritation and sweat a lot when they move around, so we developed our own unique 100% cotton circular rib fabric especially for them. The lining, which directly touches the skin, is made of "woolly yarn", a fluffy yarn that causes very little friction. Although it's difficult for an adult's hands to tell, it's an ingenious idea that takes into consideration babies' delicate skin. In addition, the seam allowance is flat seamed, so that the fabric won't raise up and touch against the skin. Of course, there are no problems with durability.

Perfect details for everyone in the family.
Thinking about how delicate babies' skin is, we've used plastic snap buttons instead of metal ones. Only the middle of the three is yellow, to prevent doing them up wrong. UNIQLO has also adjusted the holding-power of the buttons in-house, to make it easy to put the garment on and take it off, but hard for the buttons to come undone. And that's not the only novel family-friendly feature we've added. To prevent the garment from being put on inside out, the stitching on the lining is colored. The long sleeves have been designed so that the fabric stretches when the baby's hands go in them.

Gentle wear created with a sharp eye.
UNIQLO’s baby bodysuits are designed with safety as the top priority, starting with a specially controlled production environment. To ensure a formaldehyde-free state and reduce allergy risks, preparations begin three months before production starts. Every detail—from dyeing machines and looms to the air inside the factory—is thoroughly inspected. Before shipping, each item undergoes strict quality checks to confirm that no harmful substances are present. Only products that meet these rigorous standards make it to store shelves. Because it’s a baby’s very “First LifeWear,” every step is guided by the belief in “Baby First.” Everyone involved in the process works together to deliver true peace of mind to our customers.
