Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coat for the Price! I bought this before I moved from sunny california to the east coast for college. I was a bit taken aback by the large price tag (again, college kid) but I decided that it would be worth it since I know uniqlo quality. It didn't disappoint! It helped me stay dry through rainstorms I thought it would lose to, and overall was a super worth it purchase. Blocktech is pretty dang awesome. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for this version of the coat--for one from 2016, still going strong Uniqlo's blocktech coats are the best raingear for every-day use that I have ever found. Period. I would take this jacket any day over a certain fancy brand (rhymes with "Pains," as in "it pains me to spend that much money on a rubber jacket"). I am an outdoor enthusiast, and have dropped major $$$ on expensive technical rainshells from other brands. However, when I want to look cute and not like I am about to go on a hike, I reach for my green Uniqlo blocktech jacket that I bought in spring of 2016. I live in Seattle, so that means from September through April I wear this several times a week. The cut has changed a little, and the pocket system is different. However, I get constant compliments on the pretty dark green color of this jacket, which (like the excellent construction) hasn't changed. A few of my expensive rainshells have delaminated after heavy use (I usually get 1-2 years of use out of them). Not this jacket. I have never had any rips, tears, or wearing down of the rubberized treatment of the fabric. The only wear I am seeing now after 4 years of heavy use is the tape at the seams is coming off, but that is easily fixed with a little gear glue. I am looking forward to several more years from this jacket, and hope that they keep producing the green color so I can buy another someday. The only downside is that the waterproofing in this jacket is basically a thin layer of rubber--pretty dang waterproof, but it doesn't breathe well. Would not recommend if you are going on a run or a hike, but that's what gore-tex is for. If you have a very strenuous walk to work, you can get a little sweaty inside so wear an under-shirt. The only possible improvement would be a vent in the back to deal with that problem. Otherwise, keep up the good work Uniqlo.
