UNIQLO MALAYSIA COMMITMENT FOR COVID-19 RELIEF

UNIQLO extends its heartfelt sympathy to those who have lost loved ones due to COVID-19 or who have been ill with the virus. To help safeguard the health and environments of our customers, frontliners, students and underprivileged communities, we are seeking to confront this unprecedented crisis, and to contribute to the community through a number of initiatives.

March 2020:

500,000 pieces of face masks were donated to the Ministry of Health and were distributed to public hospitals across 15 states in the country.

12,481 AIRism innerwear donated to frontliners to keep them cool and comfortable while they carry out their duty to keep the nation safe.

1,000 AIRism innerwear donated to Sabah front liners when they were facing high number of COVID-19 cases.

15,300 AIRism Mask & 2,000 Heattech tops were donated for flood victims located in Pahang to keep them warm and comfortable while coping with flood and the pandemic.

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, 1,671 AIRism Masks were donated to 5 welfare homes located in Klang Valley, Penang, Johor and Melaka. These beneficiaries were a mixture of old folks, orphans and single parents from the underprivileged community.

Through our 10,000 ways to help campaign, we also reached out to the homeless and underprivileged communities nationwide during Raya and donated 30,000 AIRism Masks to them to keep them comfortable and safe.

With double-masking encouraged, we have also donated over 20,000 AIRism masks to 13 schools and learning centres across Malaysia. Our protective, breathable and comfortable masks will come in handy for both students and teachers when they return to school.

RM100,000 cash donation to The Lost Food Project - Amidst the food crisis caused by the pandemic, we've partnered with The Lost Food Project to feed the hungry while rescuing surplus food from going to landfill. With our contribution that provides for 500,000 meals and saves 437,500kg of carbon emissions, we hope to help ease the burden of vulnerable communities.

To further support the front-liners and hospitals, we are donating 20 units of Oxygen Concentrators to 4 hospitals & 9,330 AIRism Mask to Hospitals and vaccination centres. These masks are distributed to the staff and volunteers at the vaccination centres, as well as the staff at several hospitals’ mental health departments.

Over the past month, UNIQLO has been sending support in the form of clothing and food packs to the households affected by the flood alongside the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) and The Lost Food Project. With the strong collaboration of these NGOs, UNIQLO is dedicated to improve and help alleviate the impact of the flood.
