Recycling clothes into clothes, UNIQLO’s latest challenge that opens up new links between people and clothing. We are starting with down, which encompasses UNIQLO’s entire down items ranges sold worldwide, and recycling of the down and feathers. Conserving resources, reducing waste. UNIQLO is rapidly expanding initiatives that target such a future.

UNIQLO DOWN RECYCLING Unique technology ensures quality
UNIQLO focuses on high quality even in its recycled materials.
Using new technology developed jointly with TORAY, we have managed to efficiently create recycled down as new material.
① We collect secondhand UNIQLO down products in RE.UNIQLO boxes placed in each store in Japan
② Down products sent from stores are delivered to TORAY factories in Japan for sorting and down and feather extraction.
③ Down and feather are separated from fabric by controlling the wind flow using special technology.
④ Extracting the down and feathers for reuse.
⑤ Any dust is removed, and the down and feathers are cleaned, dried and reused.
⑥ Shipped as new down products.
