UNIQLO Tate UT Grand Prix awards ceremony at Tate Modern

To reveal the top three winners of the UT Grand Prix and in celebration of Tate Modern’s 25th Anniversary, UNIQLO hosted an event in the Starr Cinema and Turbine Hall at Tate Modern in London on Wednesday, May 21.
The UT Grand Prix range launched in the UNIQLO Tate Shop, Art for All pop-up opened at Tate Modern, and will be available in stores and online shops around the world of Uniqlo this summer.
On May 21, UNIQLO held a one-of-a-kind event at Tate Modern, in the Bankside area of the London Borough of Southwark. To celebrate the top three winning designs of the UT Grand Prix 2025 design contest, the UNIQLO and Tate teams came together to create a truly global moment in this iconic location.
A special awards ceremony was held at the Starr Cinema at Tate Modern
The program included meaningful speeches by the three judges as well as John C Jay, the President of Global Creative at Fast Retailing, who elaborated on the UNIQLO Museum Project’s philosophy of Art for All, increasing opportunities for people to experience art and make it more accessible to everyone.
Catherine Wood, Director of Curatorial and Chief Curator, Tate Modern, explained how UNIQLO and Tate have been in partnership since 2016, with UNIQLO’s support enabling Tate Modern to engage diverse audiences with new and exciting ways to interact with art for free. Catherine explained that the partnership has always been firmly rooted in a shared democratic philosophy and belief in both Art and Play being for everyone, no matter who or where you are.
Furthermore, the event was a rare opportunity for UNIQLO to convey its global creativity and local connections in a unique way, while also widely spreading the theme of UT, "Art for All." A celebratory cocktail reception with over 200 guests followed on the iconic Turbine Hall Bridge.
UNIQLO Tate Shop, Art for All at Tate Modern’s retail space
UNIQLO launched a pop-up store called UNIQLO Tate Shop, Art for All, at Tate Modern, that will live for a limited time. The store will feature such popular UNIQLO services as the UTme! print-on-demand station with personalized T-shirt printing and embroidery and offers a special edition Tate UTme! T-shirt collection alongside other select signature UNIQLO items. Visitors will also be able to enjoy art-inspired workshops within the space. The full UT Grand Prix t-shirt collection will be available globally by July, as launch dates may vary by region.
