We formed a global partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to help tackle poverty and assist refugees and eliminate racial discrimination, terrorism, and regional conflicts.
Children’s Support and Action
We strive in myriad ways to create a better world for children, including through educational programs that help them unleash their potential by assisting intractable disease sufferers and their families.
Sports and Culture
Sports and the arts provide infinite motivation and vitality. We partner with local sports organizations and art museums to help provide nurturing environments for children and encourage the young to appreciate clothing and fashion.
Poverty, economic disparities, and other social ills have unfortunately accompanied strong economic development in emerging nations. The Grameen UNIQLO brand in Bangladesh contributes to safe and secure working conditions, fosters the local textile industry’s development, and assists the needy.
We leverage our store network around Japan to provide clothing and financial assistance following disasters. We provided aid worth 3.3 billion yen after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. In the following year, we launched the Reconstruction Support Project to assist nongovernment organizations and open stores in affected areas. We have provided disaster relief around the world, including after Hurricane Sandy in the United States in 2012, after the Sichuan Earthquake in China and Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines in 2013, and after the Hualien Earthquake in East Taiwan in 2018.
