THE THREE CHARACTERISTICS OF HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCTS

Packaged for peace of mind
1

PACKAGED FOR PEACE OF MIND

Finished babywear products are thoroughly inspected for formalin, fluorescent agents and impurities before packaging, and we make sure they remain unopened until they are sold at UNIQLO stores around the world. If a package is opened for any reason, formaldehyde is removed before the product is sold. The packaging stays unopened from inspection until it reaches you, because at UNIQLO, we want the best for your baby.

Carefully selected materials
2

CAREFULLY SELECTED MATERIALS

Your baby’s skin is delicate and sensitive to irritation. Babies sweat a lot, but they can’t tell you when they are uncomfortable. That’s why the ideal fabric for babywear needs to be highly absorbent and stretchy. But babywear also needs to be durable enough to stand up to frequent washing. We developed our 100% cotton ribbed knit fabric to meet these requirements. Carefully selected cotton is used to produce high-quality yarn with a smooth touch. Then we perform rigorous wash-testing to verify that the fabric is durable, as well as stretchy and soft to the touch.

The highest safety standards in the world
3

THE HIGHEST SAFETY STANDARDS IN THE WORLD

Our babywear is produced in factories that meet the “High Quality” and “High Technical Competency” global assessment standards set forth by the MRA (Multilateral Recognition Arrangement) and CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment), both attached to the ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation). How do we ensure safety? First, each factory has a completely formalin-free environment. Formalin is a liquid solution of formaldehyde. Skin rashes are believed to be a factor that can trigger allergies. We have put a lot of effort into avoiding formalin. Testing cloths are hung around the factory and regularly checked for formalin. When dyed fabric is sent to the sewing factory, it is transported in sealed packages. After the dyeing process, as well as being tested for formalin at a chemical laboratory, fabrics are also pH-tested, checked for fluorescent agents, and inspected under a high-powered microscope for any impurities.
