    What is kanshasai?

    Kanshasai Festival is our way of showing gratitude to our customers and community. It is a celebration of you, our customers, as we give back with exclusive offers, exciting events and limited-time activities.

    Kanshasai Festival has proud roots in our Japanese heritage, embodying the Japanese philosophy of omotenashi. Translated literally, omotenashi, combines omote ('public facing') and nashi ('nothing').

    The true meaning of omotenashi can be found in service that comes from the bottom of the heart, motivated by honesty and authenticity, with no hint of pretence or artifice - the same service we have strived to provide since the opening of our first store in Hiroshima, Japan.

    This year, we also celebrate our Japanese heritage with the release of our UT Kabuki collection, an homage to classical Japanese theatre. Learn more here.

    The Bird Tsang is a young ceramics studio based in Amsterdam creating handmade designs for chefs. The studio was born 6 years ago out of love for craftsmanship, culinary arts and design. Founded on our mutual love for craftsmanship and high quality designs, The Bird Tsang and UNIQLO have joined forces for this season’s Kanshasai, during which the ceramic pieces will be sold at an exclusive two-day UNIQLO Kalverstraat Pop Up on Friday May 19th and Saturday May 20th. For customers spending 75 euro or more a special voucher will be given that grants 10% discount on any The Bird Tsang purchase at the Pop Up or online at www.thebirdtsang.com*
