The UT Grand Prix range launched in the Uniqlo Tate Shop, Art for All pop-up at Tate Modern, and is available in stores and online.
This one-of-a-kind event at Tate Modern, in the Bankside area of the London Borough of Southwark brought together UNIQLO and Tate teams to create a truly global moment in this iconic location.
A special awards ceremony
The programme included meaningful speeches by the three judges as well as John C Jay, the President of Global Creative at Fast Retailing, who elaborated on the UNIQLO Museum Project’s philosophy of Art for All, increasing opportunities for people to experience art and making it more accessible to everyone.
Catherine Wood, Director of Curatorial and Chief Curator, Tate Modern, explained how UNIQLO and Tate have been in partnership since 2016, with UNIQLO’s support enabling Tate Modern to engage diverse audiences with new and exciting ways to interact with art for free. Catherine explained that the partnership has always been firmly rooted in a shared democratic philosophy and belief in both Art and Play being for everyone, no matter who or where you are.
A celebratory cocktail reception with over 200 guests followed on the iconic Turbine Hall Bridge.
Uniqlo Tate Shop, Art for All
UNIQLO launched a pop-up store called Uniqlo Tate Shop, Art for All, at Tate Modern. The store features the UTme! on-demand T-shirt printing service and offers a special edition Tate UTme! T-shirt collection alongside other signature UNIQLO items. Visitors will also be able to enjoy art-inspired workshops within the space.
