What is the source of inspiration for this artwork?
I try to stay on top of current trends by seeing great exhibits at museums and going on market research trips. I also find it very beneficial to talk with friends who have different interests to gain insight into a world I don't know.
I find that when I reflect these insights in my drawings of Mickey Mouse and his friends, I am able to bring out a new charm in them. It's a lot of fun for me, and I love them more and more each time I paint them.
Please tell us the story behind this design
I always try to understand and exceed what is expected of me when creating art. When I create Disney character art, I focus on whether or not it feels good to people and whether or not the art feels great to me as well. When creating this design, I considered how to make it a part of our daily lives while respecting Mickey's individuality.

What is the source of inspiration for this artwork?
My digi-Mickey Mouse is heavily inspired by retro 80s and 90s computing visuals, as well as early html sites. Most of the pixelation attempts to mimic the look of early computer art with low pixel-count displays. I chose the bright purple and blues of default html hyperlinks for Mickey, whereas the other complimentary tones are sourced from popular colour schemes of the late 80s and early 90s.
Please tell us the story behind this artwork
I wanted to add in some level of juxtaposition between the heavily digital aesthetic and the subject matter of Mickey existing among flowers and patches of grass. However, I still chose to keep continuity by representing these naturalistic elements not as fully realistic petals and blades of grass but as more “vector icon” versions of themselves: such as one might find on the display of an early Macintosh. Overall, the vision is to create a cool, yet slightly uncanny version of Mickey sitting in a retro-digital garden.

What is the source of inspiration for this artwork?
My inspiration for this art was a desire to bring the sensational thrills and excitement of classic Marvel comics to this project. That mixed with my 3 year old daughter Amália having Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on so much at our house that Mickey, Toodles and the rest of the clubhouse feel like family! It’s not uncommon in our household when someone is looking for someone else to sing out, 'Oh, Toodles'.

Stan Lee used to start his stories right in the middle of the climatic action, immediately hooking the reader with wonderment as to what was transpiring before their eyes and making the need to keep reading to have their questions answered. I wanted to hopefully bring that same feeling when people saw this - “Trouble at the Clubhouse? Oh, No! What could it be?” Maybe they’ll just have to go to UNIQLO next year as our exciting adventure continues?!
