The Rhythm of Spring
The Spring/Summer 2022 collection from Uniqlo U launches online and in selected stores on February 10th 2022. These future LifeWear essentials are designed with the highest precision in pursuit of a simplified, modern wardrobe by artistic director Christophe Lemaire and his team in Paris. Here are some highlights of this latest collection.
Capturing the motion and lightness of spring, the collection brings ease, movement, and flexibility to everyday life with generous silhouettes. Baker Trousers have a relaxed fit for the freedom to take them on a long walk.
This collection, Christophe and the team worked a lot on the volume of sleeves. If you look carefully at the volume of this T-shirt dress you can see the character that this essential piece has been infused with.
Pure and pared-back silhouettes such as this fundamental cardigan bring clarity to a complicated world.
The concept of Uniqlo U remains the creation of functional, universal, essential pieces that allow for freedom of movement, and that are designed to last and bring solutions to everyday life. This is in accordance with the UNIQLO concept of LifeWear. Women can borrow from the men's collection with versatile pieces such as this T-shirt.
More than ever, the philosophy behind Uniqlo U and UNIQLO in general is relevant to today. It’s about creating good clothes that are utilitarian and desirable, and creating pieces that you want to keep and that last a long time—and hopefully become integral to your wardrobe. What could be more integral to your wardrobe than a classic pair of selvedge jeans?
It can be a very thin line between basic design, and boring design. UNIQLO is all about creating essentials with character. We care a lot about the little details that make all the difference: whether that's the size, the design or volume of a sleeve, or choosing from fifty shades of beige to find the perfect colour, such as for this 3D Knit jumper.
For the colour palette this season, we tried to create colours that we can easily match, and that are not too loud. It’s really about subtlety and trying to find interesting neutrals that are as refined as possible: such as the sage green and faded sunset shades of these kids' T-shirts.
Highlights of bright orange make this striped T-shirt a true essential with character.
The jersey of long sleeve T-shirts such as this one provides a soft base to build a comfortable outfit in which to enjoy a trip out into the great outdoors.
