Recycling clothes into clothes, UNIQLO’s latest challenge that opens up new links between people and clothing. We are starting with down, which encompasses UNIQLO’s entire down items ranges sold worldwide, and recycling of the down and feathers. Conserving resources, reducing waste. UNIQLO is rapidly expanding initiatives that target such a future.

UNIQLO DOWN RECYCLING Unique technology ensures quality
UNIQLO focuses on high quality even in its recycled materials.
Using new technology developed jointly with TORAY, we have managed to efficiently create recycled down as new material.
①We collect secondhand UNIQLO down products in RE.UNIQLO boxes placed in each store in Japan
②Down products sent from stores are delivered to TORAY factories in Japan for sorting and down and feather extraction.
③Down and feather are separated from fabric by controlling the wind flow using special technology.
④Extracting the down and feathers for reuse.
⑤Any dust is removed, and the down and feathers are cleaned, dried and reused.
⑥Shipped as new down products.
