UNIQLO & PARK SSC team up to support women’s football!

Jun 14, 2019 WOMEN
UNIQLO has partnered with Australian social action brand, PARK Social Soccer Company (SSC), to launch a limited edition t-shirt range to celebrate female football!

The range is available online at UNIQLO.com, UNIQLO Emporium in Melbourne, UNIQLO MidCity in Sydney as well as selected stores in Paris, London, Berlin, Barcelona, Stockholm and Amsterdam, to coincide with the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Paris.

Le Football Féminin peut changer le monde! (Women’s football can change the world!)

With a nod to the FIFA Women’s World Cup host country, the t-shirt is a shout out for female empowerment through football. Playing football inspires and empowers girls, it builds character, confidence and courage to achieve goals and create brighter futures, challenging beliefs and gender stereotypes, and that can change the world.

Kensuke Suwa, COO of UNIQLO Australia, first encountered PARK SSC in 2018. Seeing its potential, and wanting to help amplify the message and the good PARK SSC is doing, the partnership made sense.

“There is a great synergy between UNIQLO & PARK SCC – UNIQLO strives to change the world through clothing, and PARK SSC works on the philosophy that “soccer can change the world”. This partnership was a natural fit from the beginning, and we’re glad that we can support women through the t-shirts we have created together”.

PARK SSC is on a mission: inspiring and enabling global change through soccer.

PARK SSC is a social action soccer brand founded in 2015 by Sam Davy (former Global Creative Director for Apple), to help disadvantaged kids through the sport they love – football. By partnering with charities and organisations helping refugees, abandoned children, at risk youth and championing equal opportunities for girls, PARK SSC has distributed more than 8000 footballs to disadvantaged kids in 23 countries around the world.

“Football truly is the global game and it has the power to transcend race, religion and prejudice and unite people from all cultures. Thanks to UNIQLO’s support and friendship, we are taking the PARK SSC message of change to the world, and as a result will be able to help and inspire even more kids,” says Sam Davy, PARK SSC Creative Director.

Speaking about her role as a PARK SSC Ambassador, Steph Catley, Australia’s National Women’s Soccer Team (The Matilda’s) Vice Captain said, “PARK SSC is more than just a soccer brand. PARK SSC is using football to engage, inspire and educate kids. I am proud to share the PARK SSC story around the world, and to be part of this movement to change the world through football.”
