Using specialist WHOLEGARMENT equipment designed in Japan, our 3D knit garments are produced three-dimensionally as one entire piece. The intelligent machinery we use offers more precise control than traditional weaving, allowing for new and exciting ways to manipulate fabric.
Born from just one thread, our 3D knits boast a seamless design which allows the garment to follow the natural contours of your shape for a superior fit. No seams means no interference with the natural elasticity of knit materials, allowing a comfortable stretch, improved range of motion, and even distribution of stress throughout the piece.
Using only the exact amount of yarn required to knit a product, WHOLEGARMENT technology drastically reduces the volume of surplus material.
As part of UNIQLO’s ongoing global commitment to minimizing waste and reducing excess materials, our use of WHOLEGARMENT 3D knitting equipment results in a lessened carbon footprint thanks to streamlined, efficient machinery.
