"FUTURE NOW"

Melvin Galapon

United Kingdom

Melvin Galapon

As an 80s kid, video games inspired my imagination and transported me to worlds beyond my everyday. Sci-Fi and Technology featured heavily throughout the extensive list of games I played. My concept tries to capture that playfulness, while also trying to transport you to the future.

"Eternal Bloom"

Narimichi Takahashi

Japan

Narimichi Takahashi

This design combines powerful inspiration, vibrant brushwork and the vivid colours of Van Gogh, a great artist of the past, and flowers drawn by children who represent the future. The legacy left behind by artists like Van Gogh is a source of rich inspiration for the future, and new creations are built upon it. This design combines past traditions with present creativity, depicting possibilities for the future.

"The pizza I want to eat"

Ahn Do Eun

Korea

Ahn Do Eun

The moment I got scolded by my dad and wanted pizza so badly. But I couldn't eat it because they didn't sell the pizza I wanted. The pizza I wanted was the one with the same toppings as the one depicted in the artwork, but I realized that no pizza in this world is made exactly the way I think it should be, so I visualised what I thought the pizza should look like and the craving I had at that moment. It's a funny and sad story about wanting to satisfy your appetite even visually.

SPECIAL AWARD

"TETRALAND"

Sophie Norman

United Kingdom

Sophie Norman

I made Tetraland by chance using tetrapaks as dry etching boards, and loved the patterns created by the cut-off extras. Realising they could make a city skyscraper scene, I started building a collage. I enjoyed the foreground piece that creates a perspective of a street leading to the city. The result is a futuristic scene of geometric shapes and patterns, some brutal, others delicate, calmly posed in the moonlight. It pays homage to tetrapaks that are used daily all over the world.
