With a combination of state-of-the-art facilities and specialists, we research and develop new types of jeans, colours, and clean details with the latest technology and skilled workmanship to meet today's needs. Jeans can still evolve while preserving tradition.
Jeans, in a colour you've never seen before.
For jeans with a sophisticated, elegant look, we started with colour. Normal indigo turns pale as it fades. That's part of the appeal, but the impact lacks sophistication. Seeking a modern, processed look that's different from vintage, UNIQLO uses proprietary dyes.* Colours won't migrate when you machine wash them. Plus, you get a much wider range of colours to express yourself. These jeans have rich hues you've never seen before.
*The colour is "Blue 64".
Comfort and silhouette just right for me.
SOBIN runs a café in Seoul while working as a model. Looking for bottoms with a comfortable fit like a cosy café and soothing pastel colours, she landed on UNIQLO’s Wide Straight Jeans. The silhouette is not too broad, she says, and look is light and clean, all of which is comfortable and feels good. She found a beige colour that was exactly like the wall colour of her café and bought it straight away.

The goal of these wide straight jeans was to combine an authentic look and comfort. In order to create a texture that can only be achieved with weight and firmness, and to do so with a fabric that anyone would find easy to wear, it was necessary to get to the bottom of denim fabric, which is the lifeblood of jeans. UNIQLO took on the challenge of creating an unprecedented denim fabric. That challenge was supported by our partner, Kaihara. The fabric was created using a technique that dyes only the surface of the yarn a deep indigo colour while leaving the core white, resulting an authentic appearance that we sought after, even in the way the colour fades. Furthermore, by thoroughly examining the density of the warp and weft yarns, we have created a piece that is both moderately soft and smooth to wear.
