Each collar type has been carefully designed down to the minute details such as cuff size, pocket shape, and front placket. At UNIQLO's factory, impurities are carefully removed from the block-shaped bales of extra-long staple cotton that arrive from producing areas. Making Super Non-Iron Shirts starts with sewing a tape-like resin into the seams to prevent wrinkles after washing. After all the parts are sewn, an important process called "DIP processing" is carried out, which involves spraying the entire shirt with a special substance that makes it possible to be iron-free. The shirt then undergoes a high-pressure press to enhance form stability, a "baking process" to ensure full adherence of the chemicals, and it is ironed by hand by skilled professionals for the final finishing.
