A beloved texture, made with 100% recycled materials.
UNIQLO's fleece fabric is made from 100% recycled polyester yarn. The long beloved texture remains the same, even with a different material. We've made numerous design adjustments based on 30 years of careful consideration. We use 98% recycled materials for zippers and other small parts. The evolution shall continue.

We have created the ideal fleece for kids, while ensuring a soft and gentle fabric for their skin. The zipper is designed for easy handling with small hands. We've designed the collar with a chin guard to keep the fastener from touching the chin. There's also a name tag on the back side. Comfort for kids and reassurance for parents, all in one garment.
Changing the material, but not the comfort.
Recycled fibre, made from used plastic products, is the raw material for UNIQLO's fleece. Collected plastic products are sorted by colour, making full use of AI and high-definition cameras. They are broken down into parts. Not even the slightest impurity is overlooked. This is because everything is reflected in the quality of the fleece. The crushed flakes are replaced by 100% recycled polyester yarn. Our experience of making clothes is tested on unknown materials. The recipe for the dye was also adjusted in grams and developed from scratch. We do not use "recycling" as an excuse for manufacturing. Even if we change the material, we never change the comfort of the wearer.
Fabric brushed by masters.
UNIQLO has staff onsite who are called master craftsmen. They pour the know-how of clothes making that they have cultivated over the years into the production process. "Fleece clothes are all about fabric brushing." It creates fluffiness and warmth by applying fine needles to the fabric. There are countless choices in just one process, such as how many times to run it through the fabric brushing machine, how many millimeters to cut the pile, and so on. The more the fabric is brushed, the fluffier and more comfortable it becomes. On the other hand, it also has risks such as fluff coming off. We pursue the Golden Ratio of comfort and durability. "There is no perfection. It's all about the accumulation of 'we can do it better.'" Today, the strict eyes of our master craftsmen shine near the fabric brushing machines.
