UNIQLO does not focus manufacturing exclusively in China but is expanding bases in other Asian countries as well. However, we implement a strict supervisory system to ensure that quality is maintained even as we diversify our geographical manufacturing base.

At UNIQLO, we view our 50 contract manufacturing companies (60 factories) as business partners. Therefore, our UNIQLO team of experts (Takumi Team) offers consistent and positive technical support. The Takumi Team is a group of engineers with over 30 years experience in the Japanese textile industry. They transfer expertise to the factories on overall factory management including spinning, knitting, weaving, dying, sewing, finishing off and shipment.

We must not overlook the activities of our International Production Management Section. A total of 150 UNIQLO production management personnel are assigned to the Shanghai, Shenzhen and Ho Chi Minh offices. There they visit our contract factories every week to conduct quality controls, etc.
